How Laser Therapy Works To Quit Smoking
Laser Therapy is completely safe, non-invasive, and painless. The laser is applied to acupuncture points on the ears (auricular points), nose, hands, wrists and fingers (meridian points). Therapy involves stimulating specific nerve endings along the Auricular and Meridian pathways to help relieve the physical withdrawal symptoms associated with quitting smoking, such as cravings, irritability and stress. The stimulation of these specific spots, will release a chemical called endorphins. Endorphins are your body's own natural chemical, which when released, relieves the physical withdrawal symptoms of quitting smoking. Long before you were a smoker, your body produced and released your "Endorphins" on a natural time clock to maintain a chemical balance in your body. Then when you became a regular smoker, you caused your body's natural time clock to turn off, and now these endorphins are only released when you lite up a cigarette. The nicotine in the cigarette causes a chemical reaction in your blood system and forces your body to release a lot of endorphins. The release of all these endorphins relaxes you and lowers your stress level, but only for a short while. The laser therapy session will elevate your endorphin levels for a period of 30-45 days, tricking your body into thinking that it has just had a cigarette. During this time, your body's time clock will turn back on after 21 days of being nicotine free. For the first three days, clients are advised to avoid alcohol and caffeine (common trigger points for smoking) and to drink eight glasses of water daily to flush out all of the chemicals associated with cigarettes, including nicotine. We also target two of the appetite suppression points during the session, so you don't transfer your smoking addiction to food, increasing your weight.
